Shoulder muscles are one of the most important parts that ensure motion in the human body. It is connected with the joints and has a lot of flexibility. With the help of muscles, ligaments, and tendons, the shoulders stay connected to the body. But what most people don’t know is that 8 muscles attach the shoulder to the body. And, there are also other muscles as well that ensures the movement of the shoulders.

The large muscles:
- Firstly, we have the Trapezius which is one of the largest muscles that is connected to the back of your neck and down the spine. It ensures a lot of support in motion.
- Next, the Deltoid is the muscle with a triangle shape that covers the joint and your socket.
- Another muscle has more like a fan shape around the midchest that is called the Pectoralis major.
- We also have a 3 section muscle called Serratus anterior that is mainly around the first 8 ribs. The main goal of these muscles is the support that attaches them to the neck and the chest.
- The Rhomboid major is stretching actress the vertebrae to the shoulder in a flat shape.
Shoulder rotator cuff muscles:
- There is another triangular-shaped muscle called the Supraspinatus.
- We also have Infraspintus which is also in triangle shape below the above that is attached to the rear.
- There are Teres minor and major that are working together around the upper arm. Both help with connectivity with the upper muscle.
- The largest cuff rotator muscle is Subscapularis. Most of the muscles in the rotator cuff are in a triangular shape which ensures proper connectivity for broad shoulders.
Other important muscles for the shoulders:
- There is a thin muscle as well that is around the ribs for connectivity and support called Pectoralisis minor.
- Triceps and biceps that common names in the gym which men mostly focus on developing. Trcipep runs along the back of the arm to the elbow but the biceps are on the top running from the top to the elbow.
- Lats or the Latissimus dorsi is in the middle of the backbone which is also connected to the shoulder blade.
Every single muscle is responsible for the movement and the connectivity that is important for the human body. The tendons, ligaments, and muscles are connected which creates flexibility and ease of motion. If a tendon or muscle goes through an injury, you will feel pain or discomfort in the whole arm.
